Application Case of Polyether Polyol in Southeast Asian Building Insulation Systems
As infrastructure development accelerates across Southeast Asia, the demand for energy-efficient buildings and high-performance materials continues to grow. Polyether Polyol has emerged as a preferred raw material in applications such as building insulation foam, roof thermal protection, and waterproof coatings, thanks to its excellent physical and chemical properties. The following is a typical application case demonstrating the practical performance of Polyether Polyol in the construction sector.
The project was located in a tropical coastal city in Southeast Asia, where buildings are exposed to constant heat and humidity. The thermal load on exterior walls and roofs was significant, and conventional insulation systems often suffered from moisture damage and layer detachment. To solve these challenges, the construction team integrated a rigid polyurethane insulation system based on Polyether Polyol from the early design stage.
Our building-grade Polyether Polyol features low hydroxyl value, high reactivity, and superior foam cell structure control. When reacted with isocyanates, it forms dense, closed-cell rigid foam with excellent thermal resistance and water barrier performance. These characteristics made it especially suitable for spray polyurethane insulation systems used on roofs and external walls.
During the construction phase, Polyether Polyol exhibited excellent foam stability and adaptability to on-site spray operations. Low-density foam was applied to the rooftop to enhance thermal insulation while reducing structural load. For external walls, medium-density foam was used to strengthen mechanical support and improve long-term durability. The result was a uniform, tightly bonded insulation layer with no signs of delamination or cracking.
After the project was completed and occupied, energy consumption decreased by approximately 18%, and HVAC loads were significantly reduced. Even under months of extreme weather conditions, the foam insulation system remained stable without deformation or water leakage. The client expressed high satisfaction with the product's performance in long-term durability, energy savings, and construction efficiency.
This successful application of Polyether Polyol not only improved the building’s energy standards but also delivered tangible cost savings for the project owner. In areas such as spray foam insulation, rigid polyurethane systems, and construction waterproof coatings, Polyether Polyol is becoming the ideal choice for many Southeast Asian construction projects.
We continue to offer high-performance, customized Polyether Polyol solutions to support sustainable, energy-efficient building projects across the region.
