An introduction to titanium dioxide

Titanium dioxide is a kind of inorganic chemical raw material, is widely used in coating, plastic, paper, printing ink, chemical fiber, rubber, cosmetics and other industrial production.

Titanium dioxide is recognized as the world's best performance of a white pigment, its main component is titanium dioxide. Because of its stable chemical properties, generally do not react with other substances, is widely used in industrial production. It is known as the "King of white paint".

1. Paint. Add titanium dioxide coating, has strong chemical stability and resistance to all kinds of environment, bright color, low price, crack waterproof, UV protection and so on.

2. Plastic. Add titanium dioxide plastic products, not only greatly improve the heat resistance, light resistance and weather resistance of the plastic products, but also improve the mechanical and electrical properties of plastic products, increase its service life. 

3. Paper making. Adding titanium dioxide paper, with better color and strength, light quality but good toughness, thin and smooth. The use of anatase titanium dioxide without surface treatment, after surface treatment of rutile titanium dioxide is more used in the production of laminate paper, to increase the heat resistance and light resistance of paper.

4. Textile. In the textile industry, nano titanium dioxide can greatly improve the comprehensive weaving performance of yarn, by reducing sizing time, reducing sizing cost, to increase sizing efficiency.

5. Chemical fibers. In the production and manufacture of chemical fibers, titanium dioxide plays an important role in the extinction of chemical fibers, and can greatly improve the performance of fiber polymers, reduce the degree of machine wear, the general use of anatase as a matting agent and the surface is not treated, but in the special chemical fiber manufacturing needs to be treated on the surface, in order to reduce the photochemical effect of titanium dioxide.

6. Rubber. In the rubber industry, titanium dioxide plays the role of colorant, mainly used in automobile tires and rubber shoes, rubber floor, gloves, sports equipment and other rubber products manufacturing, increase its elongation and acid alkali corrosion resistance. Can be in the strong sunlight irradiation environment, so that the sun resistance, no cracking, no discoloration.

7. Cosmetics. Cosmetic grade titanium dioxide is divided into oil and water two, its stable nature, non-toxic and harmless, can improve the brightness and cover power of the product, common life foundation, sunscreen, toothpaste, soap and so on are a large number of applications.

8. Ceramics. Titanium dioxide in the ceramic manufacturing industry, can enhance the transparency and color performance of porcelain glaze, improve its density and toughness.
