How to judge the quality of HPMC simply and intuitively?

(1) Whiteness: Although whiteness cannot determine whether HPMC is easy to use, and if whitening agent is added in the production process, its quality will be affected. However, most good products have good whiteness.

(2) Fineness: HPMC usually has 80 meshes and 100 meshes, and less 120 meshes.

(3) Transparency: put hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) into water to form a transparent colloid, and then see its transparency. The greater the transparency, the better, indicating that there are less insoluble substances in it. The permeability of vertical reactors is generally good, while that of horizontal reactors is worse, which does not mean that the quality of vertical reactors is better than that of horizontal reactors. There are many factors that determine the product quality.

(4) Specific gravity: The heavier the specific gravity, the better. The ratio is significant, generally because the content of hydroxypropyl is high. If the content of hydroxypropyl is high, the water retention is better.
