The role of adding VAE Re-dispersible Polymer Powder to putty powder

2023-10-26 10:43

VAE Re permeable Polymer Powderhas been widely used in fields where inorganic cementitious materials need to be modified, such as single component JS waterproof coatings, polystyrene board bonding mortar for building insulation, flexible surface protection mortar, polystyrene particle insulation coatings, ceramic tile adhesives, self-leveling mortar, dry mix mortar, putty, etc. Adding VAE Re permeable Polymer Powder to putty powder can increase its strength, have strong adhesion and mechanical properties, and greatly help improve hardness. It has good waterproof and permeability, as well as excellent alkali resistance and wear resistance. It can also improve water retention, increase opening time, and enhance durability.

VAE Re permeable Polymer Powder is stirred evenly in putty powder, mixed with water, and dispersed into small polymer particles; The cement gel is gradually formed through the initial hydration of cement, and the liquid phase is saturated with Ca (OH) 2 formed during the hydration process, while the VAE Re dispersible Polymer Powder forms polymer particles to deposit on the surface of the cement gel/unhydrated cement particle mixture; With the further hydration of cement, the water content in the pores decreases, and polymer particles are gradually confined in the pores, forming a compact accumulation layer on the surface of cement gel/unhydrated cement particle mixture and filler; Under the action of hydration reaction, substrate absorption, and surface evaporation, the water further decreases, and the formed stacked layers aggregate into thin films, bonding the hydration reaction products together to form a complete network structure. The composite system formed by cement hydration and latex powder film formation enhances the dynamic cracking resistance of the putty.

As a transitional layer between external insulation and coating, the strength of putty should not be higher than that of plaster mortar, otherwise it is prone to cracking. In the entire insulation system, the flexibility of putty should be higher than that of the substrate. In this way, putty can better adapt to the deformation of the substrate and buffer the deformation generated by external environmental factors, alleviate stress concentration, and reduce the possibility of coating cracking and peeling.
