
Application of lithium silicate in concrete surface treatment
2023-12-04 11:36Silicate treatments can be used to improve the properties of concrete surfaces. Higher abrasion and chemical resistance will especially extend the service life of concrete floors.
Liquid silicates penetrate the surface and react with free calcium in the concrete to form a calcium silicate hydrate gel that solidifies into a glass-like structure within the pores of the concrete. Lithium and complex lithium metasilicate/potassium silicates are particularly suitable for concrete surface treatment applications.
Low viscosity, low alkalinity;
Strong activity, more efficient;
Due to the hydration reaction between lithium and concrete, there is no expansion of the base material;
Deeper, more complete penetration into concrete;
Silicic acid can be used on new or old concrete.
