The main working principle of water reducing agents
2023-05-31 11:13The main working principle of water reducing agents:
Water reducing agents have a good effect on the fluidity of concrete. Normally, without the addition of water reducing agents, if the cement and water interactions are not sufficient, there will be clumping, and the cement ions will wrap some of the water, which cannot achieve good hydration effect. After the addition of water reducing agents, the chemical substances in the water reducing agent will adsorb onto the surface of the cement, causing similar cement particles to decompose due to mutual repulsion, releasing the wrapped water molecules, It is this portion of water that can participate in hydration reactions, thereby reducing the water cement ratio, improving the strength and durability of concrete, and achieving good fluidity.
When the water cement ratio remains constant, adding a water reducing agent can increase the initial slump of concrete by more than 10cm, greatly increase its fluidity, and have plasticity.
Adding a water reducing agent can save cement consumption while maintaining the basic unchanged slump of concrete, while the early strength of concrete can still be improved compared to the non additive, thereby achieving economic benefits.
The dosage of water reducing agents needs to be adjusted appropriately in the same ratio and different seasons, because the activity of water molecules at different temperatures is different, and the interaction between water molecules and cement is affected by temperature. Therefore, when using water reducing agents, the configuration of water reducing agents in winter and summer will be different.
