The water reduction rate of polycarboxylate ether superplasticizer varies depending on the dosage and specific formulation of the product. However, it is generally known to have a high water reduction rate, with some formulations able to reduce water content in concrete mixes by up to 40-50%.


1. Polycarboxylic acid water reducer itself has a micro-air entrainment function, which is easy to prepare pumping agent, but the air content must be controlled. Generally, in order to obtain a greater increase in late strength, the air content is controlled at 2.0~3.5%, more precisely at 2.8~3.2%; when the air content exceeds the required value, it will affect the later strength, about every 1% increase in air content will reduce the later strength by 10%; so be sure to pay attention when designing the air content value.


2. Regarding normal pressure bleeding, the reason why polycarboxylic acid water reducer generally has this phenomenon is that the water reduction rate is too large or the air content is too small.


3. Storage period, 6 months in winter, the storage temperature is greater than minus 5 degrees; 1 month in summer, the storage temperature is less than 40 degrees. If it exceeds 40 degrees, water spraying and forced ventilation can be added. Sunlight exposure is strictly prohibited.


4. Because there are a lot of natural polymer substances such as starch, glucose, sucrose, dextrin, etc. in the water reducer, it is very easy to rancid and stink in summer, which will affect the water reduction rate and slump retention of the water reducer. Disinfectants (fungicides) should be added regularly. The more efficient disinfectants such as isothiazolinone should be added in an amount of 50-60 grams of disinfectants per ton of water reducer.
